Warranty Terms and Conditions

GARAGE DOOR INSTALLATION & REPAIR WARRANTY TERMS

• Garage door installation labor warranty goes into effect for one calendar year from date of installation. Any problems with the garage door must be reported immediately. Use of the garage door must stop until a Top Notch Garage Door technician is able to make an assessment. Any damage caused by continued use after the problem arises will not be covered. This warranty only covers damages caused by identifiable errors made during the original installation of new equipment or failures due to manufacturer defects.
• Garage door springs, tracks, hinges, rollers, door jamb, bearings, and pulleys must be lubricated every 3 months or warranty is void.

• Correct operation of pre-existing operator systems is never covered under warranty. Any type of damage to the new garage door system caused by a pre-existing opener system or opener system not installed by Top Notch Garage Door LLC is not covered under any circumstances. We will make an effort to attach & recalibrate pre-existing opener systems if they are in an operable, safe condition. This is done as a courtesy and will not be a requirement for full payment of the job.

• Any type of equipment damage caused by failure in the pre-existing structure is not covered under warranty.

• Annual Inspections must be performed by Top Notch Garage Door LLC to extend warranty past one year.

• If a new garage door is installed without a garage door operator and customer/contractor installs new operator, warranty is void.

JUMPED SPRING CABLES AND/OR BENT TOP PANELS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY UNLESS THERE IS AN IDENTIFIABLE ERROR FOUND WITH THE DOOR INSTALLATION AND ACKNOWLEDGED BY A TOP NOTCH GARAGE DOOR EMPLOYEE.

• Concrete foundation the door rests on should be level. If not, we may install the door using a temporary blocking under the lower side to level the door for proper operation. Do not remove the blocking until the concrete is repaired to level or warranty is void. Attaching anything to the bottom of the door voids all warranties.

GARAGE DOOR OPENER SYSTEM INSTALLATION & REPAIR WARRANTY TERMS

• Garage door opener system installation labor warranty goes into effect for one calendar year from date of installation. This warranty only covers labor needed to repair damages caused by identifiable errors made during installation. Identifiable installation errors will only be defined by Top Notch Garage Door LLC. Third party evaluations will be considered, but will not overrule the diagnosis of a Top Notch Garage Door LLC employee.

Safety eye alignments are not covered by labor warranty under any circumstance. Any warranty calls for safety sensors issues will result in a service call fee.

• Damages caused by electric power surges are not covered under warranty. Top Notch Garage Door LLC strongly recommends installing a surge protector immediately after new opener system install.

• Force and/or travel settings are not covered under warranty due to their sensitivity to climate changes. These settings will be set correctly on installation date, but may require future adjustments for an additional fee.

• Annual Inspections must be performed by Top Notch Garage Door LLC to extend warranty past one year.

• Any force, travel, belt or chain adjustments performed by any person not employed by Top Notch Garage Door LLC immediately voids this warranty.

• Damage done to any of the opener system’s wiring is not covered.

• Damage caused to the opener system by a failure of the mounting structure is not covered.

• ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE DOOR SYSTEM WHEN THE DOOR JAMS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. DO NOT ASSUME THE OPENER WILL REVERSE WHEN THE DOOR CLOSES ON AN OBJECT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE OPENER WITH THE DOOR LOCKED.

REPAIR SERVICE & MISCELLANEOUS WARRANTY TERMS

• Only the parts installed by Top Notch Garage Door technicians are covered by any warranties expressed on the front of this receipt.

• All warranties listed on this sheet are void if work is performed by the customer or another company.

• All parts are mounted to the pre-existing structure. If the pre-existing structure fails, Top Notch Garage Door is not liable for any damages or repairs.

• Pre-existing back hang brackets and operator brackets will be reused if in good sound condition. Any request by customer to replace good brackets will result in an additional charge.

• Customer must lubricate door system at least once per 3 month period or warranty is void.

•Door system lubrication requirements include all door hinges, springs, rollers, bearings and pulleys. Use silicone spray or equivalent.

• Top Notch Garage Door cannot install wires inside of walls, ceilings, attics, etc.

• Annual Inspections are required to validate warranty past one year.

• No warranty claims will be considered unless the original invoice amount is paid in full.

• This invoice shall be governed by and enforced by the laws of the local government of which the services were provided.

FILING A WARRANTY CLAIM:

• Customer must immediately notify Top Notch Garage Door of any damage to product or any failure to perform that is being considered for a warranty claim. Top Notch Garage Door agrees to respond to warranty service request in a time frame not to exceed 72 hours, unless extreme circumstances out of Top Notch Garage Door control prohibit (weather, natural disaster, jobsite availability, etc). Warranty Services shall only be performed during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. In the event after-hours, weekend or holiday warranty service is required, over-time or double-time labor and zone charges will apply and will be invoiced at the then-current Top Notch Garage Door labor rates.

• Use of the door must stop immediately after noticing any warranty claims. If customer continues to use the malfunctioning garage door system, all warranties are void.

• Customer must provide Top Notch Garage Door receipt to validate warranty.

• Warranty calls are only scheduled during regular business hours.

A service call fee of $49 may be charged prior to warranty call appointment. If the problem is found to be covered by the above warranty, the $49 will be refunded.
