  • Home appliances are interfering with the connection

How to Strengthen Your Wi-Fi Signal

  • Try moving the router to a room nearest the garage
  • Move the router to the second story (if you have one) or higher on a shelf or cabinet
  • Move the router away from metal objects (pipes, appliances, etc)
  • Place the router out in the open, not within a cabinet

  1. Wondering if you have or your customers experienced hacking of this WiFi system? Normally, WiFi and blue tooth connected systems can be hacked to jeopardize the security of the garage, car theft or illegal entry etc?

    • Great question. We’ve never had a customer whose garage door opener security has been compromised using LiftMaster MyQ technology. Rolling codes on modern smart garage door openers are much safer than fixed codes seen in older models, and updating your garage door opener system will actually enhance your home security.
